Senior Chihuahua Mix ‘Steve’ Seeks Forever Home in Wichita Falls and Lawton

Wichita Falls & Lawton, TX, October 2, 2026 —

A senior Chihuahua mix named Steve is currently seeking adoption, with opportunities available in both Wichita Falls and Lawton. Steve is described by shelter staff and volunteers as a small dog possessing an awesome personality.

As a senior animal, Steve represents a unique category of pets often overlooked in adoption processes. Shelters and rescue organizations frequently highlight the particular joys and benefits of adopting older pets, noting that they can be calmer, already trained, and often exhibit a deep capacity for companionship. While the exact age of Steve is not specified, his designation as ‘senior’ suggests he has many years of life ahead and could offer a loving presence to a new family.

The summary indicates that Steve is a Chihuahua mix, a breed typically known for its small stature. This attribute could make him a suitable companion for individuals or families living in smaller residences or those seeking a lap-sized pet. His reported “awesome personality” suggests he is likely to be friendly, engaging, and capable of forming strong bonds with his adopters.

The availability of adoption for Steve spans two distinct geographical areas: Wichita Falls and Lawton. This broad reach suggests that multiple animal welfare organizations may be involved, or that the adoption effort is being coordinated across a wider region to maximize Steve’s chances of finding a permanent home. Prospective adopters in these areas are encouraged to inquire about Steve’s specific needs and the adoption process.

Information regarding Steve’s medical history, specific training, or any behavioral quirks beyond his described personality was not provided in the summary. Those interested in learning more about Steve or beginning the adoption process are advised to contact local animal shelters or rescue groups serving Wichita Falls and Lawton.
