Community-led sessions bring global open networking & edge ecosystem to Tokyo to explore agentic AI, 6G, open source RAN, AI edge and AI infrastructure
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Linux Foundation Networking (LFN), the facilitator of collaboration and operational excellence across open source networking projects, today announced the initial session lineup for ONE Summit Japan 2026, taking place Dec. 10-11 in Tokyo, alongside Open Source Summit Japan. The program brings together technologists, developers, operators, researchers, open source contributors and industry leaders from around the world to examine how AI is reshaping networks and how networks are evolving to support the next generation of AI infrastructure.

Networking is undergoing one of its most significant architectural shifts in decades. AI is emerging both as a major workload networks must support and as a technology increasingly used to operate and automate networks. At the same time, advances in 6G, open source RAN, network APIs, cloud native architectures, edge computing and disaggregated infrastructure are converging. ONE Summit Japan offers a community-sourced view of how these changes are moving from concept to implementation across the global networking ecosystem.
“For more than a decade, ONE Summit has been where the open networking community comes together to tackle the industry’s next major challenges,” said Arpit Joshipura, general manager, Networking, Edge & IoT at the Linux Foundation. “This year’s community-selected program shows just how dramatically that conversation is evolving, from agentic AI and autonomous operations to 6G, open RAN, network APIs and AI infrastructure. Bringing ONE Summit to Japan gives us an opportunity to connect an exceptionally innovative regional ecosystem with contributors and organizations from around the world and build the next generation of intelligent, open networks together.”
The initial breakout program spans major areas of transformation across networking and distributed infrastructure, including:
- AI and networking: Agentic AI, autonomous networks, intent-based networking, multi-agent collaboration and AI-native architectures.
- Edge and AI: Distributed agentic systems, edge AI infrastructure, digital twins and physical AI.
- Agentic and autonomous telecom networks: Cloud native operations, Model Context Protocol (MCP), OpenAN, Nephio, StratoWeave and next-generation connectivity.
- Open source RAN and next-generation wireless: OCUDU, AI-RAN, A2A-T, 6G and non-terrestrial networks (NTN), GPU/NPU acceleration and mission-critical private networks.
- Data center and enterprise AI networking: AI network operating systems, SONiC, DPUs/IPUs and infrastructure designed for AI workloads.
- Network APIs, monetization and operations: CAMARA APIs, MCP, AIOps, autonomous operations and new approaches to exposing and monetizing network capabilities.
