Sofokus Releases a Free AI Guide and Maturity Model for Business Leaders

FINLAND, September 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Finnish software company Sofokus published its AI guide for business leaders on 22 September 2026, together with the Sofokus AI Maturity Model. Both are free to read and need no registration. The guide is written for a decision-maker who runs an established business and wants to apply AI to that business in a way that produces value.

The Sofokus AI Maturity Model rests on observable indicators rather than a subjective assessment: documented guidelines, completed AI purchases, named responsible individuals and reported metrics. Each of these can be checked in everyday work, without scoring scales or staff surveys. An organisation uses the model to identify its own level of AI maturity and to set a target level.

“The AI shift is like digitalisation. It reaches industries at different speeds, and it takes a change of culture inside the organisation before the benefits become visible,” says the author of the guide, Sofokus founder Teemu Malinen.

The guide covers how big the change really is, what AI maturity means and how to measure it, what AI costs and how to budget for it, and how to adopt AI in a controlled way.

Adoption is not the bottleneck

Finnish companies have taken AI into use quickly, but few turn it into revenue. Statistics Finland reports that 38 per cent of companies employing at least ten people used AI technologies in spring 2025, up 14 percentage points from the previous year. Among companies with at least 100 employees, the figure for the same spring was 68 per cent. A survey published by the Confederation of Finnish Industries in September 2026 found that only 11 per cent of responding member companies generate new business with AI.

The public sector is working on the same gap. Finland’s Ministerial Committee on Economic Policy decided on 25 June 2026 to accelerate the AI transformation of public administration and to build a national AI platform to strengthen digital sovereignty.
