Wichita Falls & Lawton, TX, October 12, 2026 — Lawton will soon mark the return of a popular community event as it prepares to host its 5th Annual Local Author Fest. The event is scheduled to take place on October 17th, offering a platform for local literary talent to connect with the public.
The Annual Local Author Fest is a collaborative effort, jointly organized by two established community organizations: the Lawton Farmers Market and the Lawton Public Library. This partnership aims to bring together different facets of community engagement, from local commerce and agriculture represented by the Farmers Market, to education and cultural enrichment provided by the Public Library.
This year’s festival marks the fifth iteration of the event, indicating a sustained interest and success in celebrating local authors and their works. While specific details regarding participating authors, book genres, or event schedules for this year were not provided, such festivals typically feature a diverse range of writers from the surrounding region. Attendees can usually expect opportunities to meet authors, discuss their books, and purchase signed copies. These events often serve as a vital avenue for emerging and established local writers to gain visibility and engage directly with readers in their community.
The Lawton Farmers Market, known for supporting local producers and artisans, extends its reach to include local literary creators. The Lawton Public Library, a cornerstone of community learning and resource sharing, further solidifies the event’s commitment to fostering a vibrant local culture. The combined efforts of these organizations are expected to draw residents interested in literature, writing, and supporting local talent.
Further information on how to participate or attend the 5th Annual Local Author Fest will likely be made available closer to the October 17th date through the respective channels of the Lawton Farmers Market and the Lawton Public Library.
